@dmdavidblog It’s important to set the scene periodically. Take breaks in the action to describe the setting and how the action has changed it. It’s easy to stay focused on dice and hit points and forget the world of the game.

@dmdavidblog I think it’s very situational. Some checks are reasonable to repeat, some are repeatable with increased difficulty, some make no sense to repeat. I think understanding how the failed check impacts the story. DMs need a few tools in their pockets and the confidence to use them
