All weekend into Monday, DOB inspectors were on site, comms teams kept New Yorkers informed, staff shifted seamlessly to virtual ops, and emergency units stood ready.

Over the last few days the metropolitan area has experienced a persistent weather event of light and moderate snow and may continue to experience severe weather including heavy snow, freezing temps, and wind chills being in the single digits.
DOB inspectors and engineers were on scene in Ridgewood, Queens, earlier today to conduct inspections of the fire-damaged buildings.
In the interest of public safety, DOB issued orders to vacate and seal the properties. We will be back on scene tomorrow as operations continue.
