Luke Falk shared a Mike Leach story that stopped me cold:

Two kids. One rich. One poor.

Every training camp, Coach Leach told his team about these 2 kids.

The rich kid has two choices.

Get soft. Get entitled. Expect everything handed to him because he was handed more.

Or take the resources, the coaching, the opportunities, and compound them into something greater.

The poor kid has two choices too.

Say nobody gave him anything. Blame the world. Make his circumstances the reason he never became what he could have been.

Or outwork everyone in the room.

Luke said the locker room had both. Kids from wealth. Kids from nothing. Kids with every advantage. Kids who scraped for every inch.

Same choice for all of them.

Ownership or victimhood.
Fuel or excuse.

The rich kid can waste the head start or build on it.

The poor kid can drown in the deficit or weaponize it.

Greatness doesn't come from where you start.

It comes from which kid you choose to feed.

I am not a reporter, so I cannot undeniably confirm. Nor have I seen the OMB submission.

As for timing, we had been honing in on Friday 13th. However I think it may slip to early the week of 3/16…

This story is now more than 25 years old and I have told it more times than I can count, but it hits very differently today.

I was anchoring SportsCenter one afternoon and Lou Holtz was on the show. I was quite excited to talk with him, he had been an icon all of my life.

He was very friendly, asking me all about myself as we walked toward the studio to record an interview. I told him: “Actually, Coach, it’s quite exciting, my wife and I are expecting our first child in the next few weeks.”

He stopped dead in his tracks and put a finger up near my face. And I’ll never forget what he said.

“Young man, the most important thing you can do for a child is make sure every day they know how much you love their mother.”

And, just like that, he started walking again.

Our daughter was born a month later, our son came two years after that. And I have thought about what Lou Holtz said to me that day about a million times since.

RIP Coach, thanks for the best advice anyone ever gave me.

If you watch anything today watch this. I didn’t need to stare at my own mortality I had a front row seat watching my mom do it. It’s a profound paradigm shift when you start looking at the deeper meaning of why we are all here and what our purpose is.

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION TO FINALIZE 2026 BIOFUEL QUOTAS BY MARCH

The Trump administration is expected to finalize 2026 biofuel blending quotas by early March, largely sticking to its initial proposal while dropping a plan to penalize imports of renewable fuels and feedstocks, sources said.

The move would balance demands from biofuel producers and oil refiners by maintaining higher blending targets while avoiding measures that could raise fuel costs. The EPA is considering bio-based diesel volumes of 5.2 to 5.6 billion gallons for 2026, near the originally proposed 5.61 billion gallons. Final approval is expected in the first quarter of 2026.
