@bitcoindudebro A forced liquidation event is most immediate risk. Or one day Saylor decides to dump. Would destabilize the market. Plus extreme wealth consolidation within any monetary system is inherently problematic. When that system is built on a fixed supply...
Why aren't more people flagging Microstrategy/Saylor as a systemic Bitcoin risk? 3% ownership of total supply + Winklewhatevers' 1% total ownership is essentially King-making, no?
And if the King is forced to liquidate? Or wants to tip the scales on every electoral campaign?
I retreated from Bitcoin spaces b/c of toxic men like Dennis Porter singling me out as"enemy # 1" and the pervasive rape culture. Worse, alleged "progressive" Bitcoiners were silent/ complicit. I am glad Dennis is getting called out. I hope there's more accountability to come.
My port-mortem take on why Dems lost on the Bitcoin/crypto issue: They dismissed it altogether, letting the Right define it. D's left to build their brand posturing against it. Biden admin's hostility couldn't have saved Kamala in time, even if she had distanced herself from him.
@thetrocro@VP Her focus is narrowed to the small % of undecided/pursuadable voters. Most crypto enthusiasts don't fall into that category. Though her acknowledgement that many black men are crypto users, and her stated desire to safeguard that, is significant.
I can confirm this is true. I'll be on as interim host until a permanent host can be found. Going forward, we'll be putting out an episode a month.
Losing the only prominent left bitcoin podcast at this unique moment is just not fathomable. Thank you again, Trey, for doing your part, I'll do my best to live up to your work!
Let's retire the "Bitcoin isn't political" refrain. Of course Bitcoin is political! It was created in the aftermath of a global economic crisis to provide a more stable, equitable, worldwide monetary system.
I told a new friend I was a Bitcoiner. Their immediate response was to ask me if I was a Trumper.
This is a problem.
Reasonable people do not want to be associated with Trump.
(Especially queer people in Portland)
