I’m giving a free soft circuits and electronics workshop at #35c3! One tonight at 20:30 and one tomorrow at 09:30. 60 spaces on each, filling up very fast. Reserve a space by replying to this tweet 💖💖
I'm running a creative tech in education meet up during BETT. It will be on Thursday 24 Jan, from 6.30-9.30. It was mega fun (and sold out) last year. I'm doing a call out for short talks/installations. No sales pitches, just cool stuff. Anyone want to share something? DMs = open
Wow 😭 “It is impossible not to love this [book] & the world it opens up to young people. It’s just beautiful, isn’t it? I know we’re supposed to be objective assessors on this show but sometimes you think 'no, this is just really great’.” BBC Click Radio. https://t.co/aIFxLJKPKL
OMG just saw that my book is top three on Amazon’s Hot New Releases in Children’s Crafts!! Does that mean people are actually going to buy it? Is this real life?? https://t.co/kfRvzqyiSb
I get a lot of requests from schools to come and speak about being a children's author or inventing stuff like robot unicorns or gestural musical instruments. So I'm setting aside two hours per week for skyping classrooms anywhere in the world. For free. AMA. Just book a time 💖
Oooh, my dad just spotted that you can preorder my book on Waterstones for the same price as Amazon. They are a much nicer shop to spend your pounds in! Delivery in time for Christmas 🔨⚡️💖 https://t.co/0CVT50SnxX
Okay Twitter can you help me explain something to a student? This circuit is NOT connected to ground but it is still working. Why? Is one of the pins acting as a ground as well as an input? Have we broken Physics? #makered#arduino#caschat
I'm super excited to share that I'll be collaborating with the amazing educator & maker @LMcUnderwood to develop the education content for the minimu glove with @mimu_gloves & @pimoroni - this is gonna be off the charts awesome! #microbit#makered#dreamteam
Today I’ve been taking and editing the last pictures for the Paper Circuits section of my book. I’m quite pleased with this project: a light up cityscape that teaches pop up cards, scalpel skills and how to make copper tape circuits that cross paths.
Spending Sunday morning testing my Paper Circuits makes from The Crafty Kid’s Guide to DIY Electronics. This one is a dancing ladybird that teaches simple circuits, vibration motors, origami folds and DIY copper tape battery packs. Cuuuuuute! 🐞
I just backed Smartibot: The world's first A.I. enabled cardboard robot on @Kickstarter https://t.co/z4PhVToOkw If you love play, robots and tea delivery you should check this out. By my enormously talented friend @rossatkin, helped out by the delightful @rehana_makes ⚡️🔨🔥
Just finished a wonderful day of user testing, prototyping, sewing, wiring & coding with an extremely excited class of 13 year old girls. We’re trialing the latest https://t.co/2cFwkHoyc2 glove, which I’ve been developing with @mimu_gloves, @imogenheap & @Pimoroni.⚡️💖🎼🔨🔥
I’ve moved on from my Soft Circuits chapter (it’s looking scrumptious!!) and am working away on my Paper Circuits chapter. Here’s my pop up cityscape project, teaching parallel circuits and scalpel wielding skills with @chibitronics stickers. Like it?
This little shouty monster (DIY tilt switch project from my book) is visiting London with me. I’m back for a few days to go see @pimoroni and @mimu_gloves, plus teach my last uni session with my final years undergrads 😭😭😭
About this @TesResources scandal. I am seeing teachers from all subjects having their content STOLEN and resold on the TES platform. The responses from TES boil down to “it’s the internet lol what can we do 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️”. Extremely poor content management platform. https://t.co/2LvU7NiDuZ
Oh my actual goodness @HackSpaceMag put me and my robot unicorn on their cover this month! I’m excited to read the interview: we talked about maker education, creativity, community and what being a millennial elder means. On sale now! https://t.co/IkVKRdZtiU
