We lost a Canadian pilot two days ago who was down in the U.S. helping fight fires in CO. And just TODAY our RAF saved 11 Minnesotan teenagers. We ALWAYS send help south when needed.

Trump can chirp “forestry management”, but Canadians cannot control the drought conditions we’ve been facing since 2022, the record-breaking heat, the lightening strikes due to convective storms, wind speed or the damned wind direction. These fires are moving at a rate of 2.5 MILES (4km) per HOUR.

Yet, once again, the Trump admin keeps heaping on the abuse. Threatening to annex us, threatening to ruin us economically so he can annex us. Complaining about the USMCA (which, when he signed it in his first term, he called “the greatest trade deal in human history”. Sending us the 2nd biggest a-hole in the admin, Pete Hoekstra. #PersonaNonGrata

And you know what? Despite him treating us like excrement, Canadians will still show up and help you with your national disasters. With the GOP drastically cutting FEMA, you’re going to need us more than ever.

The damage he’s done to America’s trustworthiness and moral standing in the world is incalculable. It will take a generation to heal, not just with Canadians, but with other U.S. allies, too.

TMX is wildly profitable. Tolls are only part of the full story.

TMX generates over $1.7B per year for Canada through our ownership position.

It also results in an additional $46.7B in royalties and taxes over the first 20 years of operations, and there are substantial benefit agreements in place with First Nations.

An excellent return on $34B. But because the commercial tolls only tell part of the story of return TMX is also an excellent illustration of why infrastructure that provides broader public and economic return is often backstopped by or involves government involvement (see: roads, rail, etc)
