Saint Augustine described our hearts as restless. That restlessness is oriented towards heaven, whose doors are open to us as a result of the incarnation, passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If we enter into the dynamism of His love and grace, Jesus will be victorious in us—not just at the hour of our death, but also today, right now, and every day hereafter. #GeneralAudience

Before every Nativity scene, including those set up in our homes, we relive the birth of Jesus. We rediscover the need to seek moments of silence and prayer in our lives, in order to find ourselves and enter into communion with God. #Christmas

Today I particularly wish to entrust to the Lord the victims of the terrorist massacre carried out yesterday in #Sydney against the Jewish community. Enough with this antisemitic violence! In the midst of unending conflicts, injustices, and sufferings that cry out for relief, #OurLadyOfGuadalupe proclaims the heart of her message: “Am I not here, I who am your mother?” Her voice makes resound the promise of God’s faithfulness, whose presence sustains us when life becomes unbearable.

Every human being and every religion is called to promote #Fraternity. In our time marked by growing conflict and division, we need authentic testimonies of human kindness and charity to remind us that we are all brothers and sisters. Words are not enough. Our love and deepest convictions need to be continually cultivated, and we do so through concrete actions. #ZayedAward

I would like us to remember the Lord’s words: “Truly, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me” (Mt 25:40). It is truly so! If we concretely love those who are hungry and thirsty, those without clothing, those who are sick, strangers, or prisoners, then we are loving the Lord.

Dear young people, perhaps you regret inheriting a world torn apart by wars and disfigured by social injustice. Today we entrust to Saint Charbel’s intercession the needs of the Church, #Lebanon and the world. For the Church, we ask for unity. For the world, we ask for #Peace. We especially implore it for Lebanon and for the entire Levant. But there is no peace without conversion of hearts. May Saint Charbel, therefore, help us to turn to God and ask for the gift of conversion for all of us. #ApostolicJourney
