@JohnNaborsShow Same here. We saw Georgia in Birmingham & thought they were just a machine, but that’s baseball. With the Hogs out of it we can just watch what happens & enjoy the end of the season.
The fact that you ACTUALLY BELIEVE that Donald Trump is a "racist, fascist, criminal scumbag" reveals the following things about you:
1. You are very poorly informed about American politics.
2. You are extremely susceptible to propaganda.
3. You possess inadequate critical thinking skills.
4. You allow emotion to color your judgment in such a way as to render you wholly untrustworthy on any matter of significance.
And the Great Battleship USS Texas BB-35 which had just supported the Normandy invasion on the top side of France now swung around to help participate in Operation Dragoon on the south side of France. A WW1 veteran, she would go on to serve in the Pacific Theater. She is now finishing up her refit and refurbishment in Galveston Texas. She is the only ship to exist anywhere in the world to have served in WW1 and WW2. From escorting the German High Seas Fleet to Scapa Flow for internment after the German surrender in WW1 to an illustrious career in WW2. She has it all boys and girls!
Operation Torch- Invasion of N. Africa
Normandy Invasion D-Day
Operation Dragoon- Southern France
Iwo Jima
Okinawa
She should be back open at her new home in Galveston Texas in 2027 after a $60,000,000 overhaul.
BREAKING: The nation's largest teachers union just scrubbed their 2025 handbook from their website.
Too bad for them, I saved the 434-page document. 👇🧵
@hogginsince80@nolanrichardsin@TreyBiddy Same here. Sunday morning I told my wife that until the Hogs care about winning , we won’t be back. The emotional cost of watching that pathetic effort was too high.
The NOT Arcane Texas Fact of the Day:
It is February 24th. 189 years ago today, William Travis wrote the most famous document in the annals of Texas history. Remarkably, given the conditions under which it was written and sent out from the Alamo, Travis' letter still exists.
Commandancy of the Alamo—
Bejar, Fby. 24th 1836
To the People of Texas & All Americans in the World:
Fellow citizens & compatriots—I am besieged, by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna—I have sustained a continual Bombardment & cannonade for 24 hours & have not lost a man. The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise, the garrison are to be put to the sword, if the fort is taken—I have answered the demand with a cannon shot, & our flag still waves proudly from the walls. I shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid, with all dispatch—The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily & will no doubt increase to three or four thousand in four or five days. If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible & die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country—Victory or Death.
William Barret Travis
Lt. Col. comdt
P.S. The Lord is on our side—When the enemy appeared in sight we had not three bushels of corn—We have since found in deserted houses 80 or 90 bushels & got into the walls 20 or 30 head of Beeves.
Travis
@FischerKing64@hopliterevolver Rebel Yell is great. Empire of the Summer Moon is an epic tale of the Commancheria & conflict of vastly different cultures. I am distantly related to Herman Lehman.
@FischerKing64 If he loved animals so much, why not stop to make sure the critter was dead? I’ve put animals down in similar circumstances to end further suffering. Just seems the humaine thing to do.
Today marks the 188th anniversary of the fall of the Alamo, a defining moment in Texas history. The bravery and sacrifice of those who fought for freedom and liberty will forever be remembered and honored. Remember The Alamo.
Big 12 Player of the Year, Jack Francis, continues to monster mash on the boards for Texas Tech. He was averaging a team best 24 rebounds per 40 minutes entering tonight's contest and has only improved that outrageous production. Made doubly impressive that Jack is only 6'3.
