I owe my first (and only) French Open women's singles title to the one and only @ChrissieEvert.
Winning this title was a big goal, and she practiced with me endlessly in Florida beforehand so I could prepare.
I won the title 54 years ago today.
Thank you, Chrissie!
A day 60+ years in the making.
It is with great pride and so much gratitude that I share with you that I am a college graduate with a Bachelor's in History from @CalStateLA.
There aren't words adequate enough to encapsulate all that I am feeling in this moment, so I'll simply say this:
It is never too late to learn, to grow, or to chase the dream that still quietly calls your name. Life has a way of rerouting our paths and asking us to begin again when we least expect it.
But the dream does not expire simply because time has passed.
Whether you're 18 or 82, your goals are still worthy of pursuit.
Keep going for it. Keep believing in yourself. And never let anyone convince you that your moment has passed. Because sometimes the most meaningful victories arrive after the longest journeys.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A heavy police presence disrupted the final day of the Rochester Lilac Festival on Sunday as multiple fights broke out at Highland Park. Law enforcement responded by actively ejecting agitators from the ongoing event, and multiple people have been detained.
They said English culture doesn't exist.
They said it in English. 🏴
The most spoken language on Earth. Born on this island.
Fifteen hundred years ago, three tribes crossed the North Sea. Angles. Saxons. Jutes. They brought words we still use today.
Earth. Water. Fire. Love. Mother. Father. Child.
They called their language Englisc. They called this place Engla land. Land of the Angles.
Then the Vikings came. They didn't just raid. They settled. Became neighbours. And when you live next door to someone, your languages merge.
Sky. Skull. Knife. Window, the Viking for "wind-eye."
They. Them. Their. Those aren't English words. They're Viking. Ordinary people chose them because they worked better.
Then came 1066. The Normans conquered England. The new rulers spoke French. For three hundred years, English had no official status in its own country.
But the people never stopped speaking it.
The farmer called it a cow. The lord called it beef. Pig and pork. Sheep and mutton. That class divide is still on your plate tonight.
English didn't die. It swallowed ten thousand French words and came back stronger.
Today. One and a half billion people speak this language. Every pilot on Earth speaks it. Half the internet is written in it.
No academy designed it. No king commanded it. It was built by ordinary people. On this island.
They said English culture doesn't exist.
They said it in English.
You're the reason these stories reach millions of people. Not sponsors. Not ads. You.

Be Proud Of Us. 🇬🇧
I have such respect for @JPegula. If my family was worth billions, I’d be the laziest, most entitled POS.
She’s out here, 32 on Tuesday, winning tourneys against the world’s best. Making her own money and cementing her name in history.
Your room looks beautiful!
She’ll feel the love and attention you put into it!
One suggestion- the bed mattress looks high. That can be a problem for seniors. Think about adding a step stool with handles so she can be as independent and comfortable as possible. Very nice room!!
My mom is moving in with us next week, and we’ve been working so hard to get her room ready. It used to be my kids’ playroom, and they gave it up without hesitation to make space for their grandma. The room was in pretty rough shape, but we’ve cleaned it up and made it cozy for her.
Even though the room is ready, I still feel like something is missing to make it extra special. Any ideas? It's important for the room to feel cozy and safe for her to really get better.

Sad to see a lot of usual suspects on here are spreading hate and abuse towards @SabalenkaA
A reminder that Aryna is one of the nicest and most popular players on the tour and one of the most genuine too. 🫶
