5 exam attempts over the last 18 months. Training extended by a year. Nearly got kicked out training in December. 2 years of counselling and it’s looking like I’ll be CCT’ing next month. Disbelief.

@ruhi_hi Love it! I went to med school decades ago, there was a continual assessment system in place...anatomy stated at the top...I knew I had passed by the time we got to the diaphragm....so...I became a cardiologist...by necessity probably.
@natalieben It restores faith in fact based, considered, humanitarian opinion that should guide our political decisions, but sadly is absent all too often. This argument deserves much wider promotion.
@JccmoonMoon@Katia_Menacho@SCMRorg Katia richly deserved congratulations. A(nother) step towards greater access to the best medical care for the less well off nations.
Today is my 8th wedding anniversary. I have spent it feeding and talking to my husband who no longer realises we are married. I have no other words 😢Live every day #earlyonsetalzheimers
@ShrillaB Shrilla obvious bilateral pride & love, truly wonderful. Thoughts are with you. Lost 95yr old close relative to covid, perhaps not a surprise, but wrenching. All our losses diminish us. We strive for all whatever age.
In safe hands! Good to hear BBC Profile on June Raine CBE. She represents the victory of academically robust, consistent & independent voices in public service. Contrast with many in politics. I'd link to the programme but I'm inept at twitter.
Zooming at the haemoglobinopathy seminar today. @thalassaemiaTIF All in English!! For many not first language. Experienced the stress recently. Zoom spoke Spanish at conference "in" Peru. Ouch. Not my tongue since I was 11yr. Huge admiration to those who have to do this always
Sad sad news regarding the death of Tony Gerschlick. A really special doctor, academic and friend. Our thoughts go out to his family. Let us all do our best to ensure complacency about COVID does not gain any more ground. Cardiology has lost one of its pillars.
