@philatrail I find the point regarding 320km/h the "standard" interesting given that Japan's E10 series is rated for 360km/h, China regularly runs at 350km/h, France now builds to 350km/h and Spain is uprating a 310km/h line to 350km/h (that was previously descoped from 350 km/h).

Following completion of the ‘cold exam’ element of the annual recertification process the locomotive has been moved outside for the ‘hot exam’ to take place. For this the locomotive needs to be in steam so the fire has been lit today.
Palmerston, Diplocat extraordinaire, passed away peacefully on 12 February. “Palmy” was a special member of the Government House team in Bermuda, and a much loved family member. He was a wonderful companion, with a gentle nature, and will be sorely missed.
