👉 Summarizing the recent literature, our new review highlights the emerging theme of context-dependency in intestinal colonization resistance! It was so much fun to write this piece with @SimonWoelfel and @marta_tita15 ! @ERC_Research@crc1371@DocMvPI1

Ever asked yourself the scientific question how bacteria can be diversifying in terms of epigenetics and DNA methylation? A recent paper by Lubna Patel from our Doc@MvPI graduate program has some answers 😻🌞: https://t.co/i9bWJLOX7B

This is a very elegant paper by the Adler lab, including work by two graduate researchers of our Doc@MvPI program, Katharina and Lena. By generating MCMV mutants they dissect synergistic roles of chemokine and receptor glycoproteins during MCMV infection. check it out!🤩
Wanted to know how hares distingusih from humans? Except hares can outrun us fast. Read the latest article by our graduate program researcher Luca Schelle (@Baldauf Lab Viiral) on aspects of the hares' (lagomorphs) immune systems....Have fun reading 😍
Happy to see Stephanie Pfaender awarded the Robert Koch Award from City of Clausthal-Zellerfeld, birthplace of Robert Koch. Stephanie was a former Ph.D. (now Professor) of our @DFG graduate program IRTG 1273. Doing great work on virus-host interactions, including corona. Love😍😎
Congratulations to Professor Stephanie Pfänder for her 2023 Robert Koch Advancement Award of the City of Clausthal-Zellerfeld. I had the pleasure of presenting her with the award together with Clausthal-Zellerfeld Mayor Petra Emmerich-Kopatsch @StephaniePfaen1 @RKStiftung
@StadtMuenchen Great award for Sebastian Winter, Ex-Pettenkoferian (did his Ph.D. here) and now Professor at the renowned University of California at Davis. We are proud of him and send our most sincere congrats!🤩

Cool paper from the #Suerbaumlab, co-corresponding author Ailloud, on global analyses of distribution of bacterial Methyltransferase enzymes (distribution and evolution), with contributions by our program member and respected colleague Wilhelm Gottschall. Proud of this work!🍾😎
Our NEW paper just out in Communications Biology https://t.co/axMjTUG8lY
An in depth analysis of the global distribution and evolution of the amazing wealth of MTases plus their cognate recognition sequences in Helicobacter pylori.
📣 hot in press:
Luca's first 1st author paper identifying three novel groups of primate #IFITMs and three mechanism of evolution for the #IFN-regulated #IFITMs. Great collaboration with @jue_ane and Pedro Esteves. (1/2) @LMU_Muenchen@CIBIO_InBIO
