🚨BREAKING🚨: Xbox just took a shot at Sony right in the middle of the GTA VI disc controversy.
Sony announced physical discs are dead starting January 2028. GTA VI shipped with no disc.
The backlash has been massive.
And right in the middle of all that Xbox promoted the new Halo game with "physical discs" listed as a feature.
That's not a coincidence. That's a calculated jab using their biggest franchise.
A generation ago Sony made fun of Xbox for trying to go all digital.
Now Xbox is doing the exact same thing back.

Rockstar/Take-Two Interactive is complicit, by the way
They announced abandoning real physical media first with GTA 6—just a box with a download code. They knew exactly what they were doing. They are complicit
They're both in the club, and we ain't 👍 They're trying to distance GTA 6 from something they themselves are pushing
GTA 6 is objectively the most anticipated game in gaming history, and it ABSOLUTELY sets the precedent for others. They're using it to normalize this behavior.
100% complicit 💯
Rockstar reportedly told Sony to remove GTA VI's branding from the PlayStation App after the disc controversy got too hot
Sony killed physical discs for all PlayStation games starting January 2028.
The backlash was instant.
Politicians calling for regulation. KFC and Domino's publicly roasting them. The internet turned on Sony overnight.
A week ago Sony had GTA VI everywhere.
App icon changed. PS5 dashboard taken over. Store completely redesigned. No PlayStation game has ever gotten that treatment.
Now all of it is quietly gone.
When Rockstar doesn't want to be associated with your decisions you know it's bad.
