The IDENTIFY @BURSTurology risk calculator predicts urinary tract cancer using patient characteristics.
⭕️It stratifies haematuria patients into very-low-risk, low-risk, intermediate-risk, and high-risk groups.
📈External validation involved 3582 patients, achieving an AUC of 0.78 (0.80 in urothelial cancer prevalent countries).
⚙️Machine learning models, like Random Forest, were evaluated but slightly less effective.
🧮The calculator helps urologists prioritize diagnostics, avoid unnecessary procedures, and better counsel patients.
🦀Most cancers were found in intermediate- and high-risk groups, with more aggressive types in higher-risk groups.
👍This tool aids in fast-tracking high-risk patients for thorough investigations.

BN133: Maybe PCNL is not totally dead at the moment and can still play a major role for huge volume stone, especially when associated with great instrument like Trilogy from EMS. Still alive until…😉😉😉😉😉
Today, I finished my last inpatient shift of internal medicine residency.
Here is a short thread of some of the most important lessons I have learned over the last few years:

Diabetic male presented with Obst uropathy due to papillary necrosis. Post DJ stenting creatinine dropped from 4 to 1. Did RIRS. Removed small papillae & found this slough/ papillae attached not yielding to basket. Further plan? @drnanjappa@so_uro@endouroacademy@Uroweb
This is a photo of my list from my very first day of surgical residency (censored).
It's an absolute trainwreck.
And like you'd imagine, my evening signouts in those early days were equally chaotic.
Until one day, everything changed.
