Teachers don’t have to be cops. So many of our institutions, institutional systems, technological systems, and cultural norms push teachers toward the work of policing student behavior. I’d say it’s exactly our job to say “no” and to actively push back on these systems.

Whew. Hi! Nothing to add, other than: white parents of white kids can’t leave talk of racism to parents of kids of colour. Practice what you’d do in the face of racism, just like for other hard situations. Kids see and live injustice, and want help making sense and making right.

Can people share this please, we’ve just had Autism Acceptance week and the amount of people including Autistics I still see using “People with Autism” is unreal. It really do be your own people 🤦🏼‍♀️.
