@DerekDervinis@TrishTheMiddle@Rambo2585790@washingtonpost Because they are creating those conditions while in detention by providing expired food with maggots and little to no medical care. A detainee was just released from Delaney in jersey today who is in a wheelchair and was in solitary confinement for 5 months.
A newborn ward at the Shohada-ye Hastei Hospital was damaged following US and Israeli strikes in southern Iran on Tuesday, according to the Iranian Red Crescent.
Video published by Iran’s ISNA News Agency showed an Iranian Red Crescent staffer walking through the neonatal ward of the hospital at the Persian Gulf medical complex, where at least two babies could be seen swaddled in blankets. Fallen pieces of ceiling and damaged equipment line the hospital walls.
“This is the newborn unit of the hospital. We are evacuating all the units,” the Red Crescent staffer said in the video. “In this unit, in the awful moment, the airstrike hit an area where (points to children in the ward) here is this child, or that child over there. If you took the machine off them, they would die.”
In a separate video released by ISNA and geolocated by CNN, medical staffers can be seen carrying a newborn baby out of the hospital while surrounded by building damage and debris.
“We are at the Shohada-ye Hastei Hospital, it has been totally evacuated. And then a few moments ago it was impacted by the missiles,” the same Red Crescent worker said.
No fatalities were reported, the Red Crescent said.
CNN has sought comment from the Israeli military and the US Department of Defense.
At least 10 medical centers, hospitals and emergency bases in Iran have been hit since the US and Israel campaign started Saturday, Mohammad Raeeszadeh, the head of the Medical Council in Iran, told reporters on Monday.
Just on Tuesday, the UN human rights chief, Volker Türk, warned that “directed against civilians or civilian objects as well as indiscriminate attacks are serious violations of international humanitarian law, and may amount to war crimes,” against the backdrop of widespread hostilities in the region.

🚨 35 killed in Pakistan amid protests over U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran
At least 35 civilians have been killed across Pakistan after protests erupted denouncing the joint U.S.–Israeli strikes on neighboring Iran that also killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The death toll was 16 people killed in Karachi, 7 in Gilgit, 6 in Skardu, and 6 in Islamabad – according to Jamhoor Media journalist @AlifyaSohail. Al Jazeera and other outlets have separately confirmed deadly clashes nationwide with slightly different death tolls.
➤ Karachi: At least 16 killed, 34+ injured after protesters breached the outer wall of the U.S. Consulate. Reports say Marine Security Guards and local police opened fire after parts of the compound and nearby police posts were set ablaze.
➤ Gilgit (7 dead): Clashes with police turned deadly amid large anti-U.S. demonstrations in the city.
➤ Skardu (6 dead): Protesters torched a UN office (UNDP/UNMOGIP complex), with multiple fatalities reported during confrontations with security forces.
➤ Islamabad (6 dead): Security forces used tear gas and live ammunition to block roughly 4,000 protesters from entering the heavily guarded Diplomatic Enclave near the U.S. Embassy.
There are unconfirmed reports of an information clampdown, with hospitals allegedly restricted from releasing full casualty data. The U.S. Embassy has issued a high-level security alert as protests continue in multiple cities.
Yesterday in southern Iran, around 180 young children lost their lives in a single missile strike. Tonight in Tehran, Gandhi Hospital was targeted by the same kind of missile. My colleagues are now in the process of evacuating the hospital.

Rest in peace, my neighbor Hassan Kilani, who Israel killed today.
Hassan and his wife were blessed with a baby two weeks ago.
At just two weeks old, Hoor has been robbed of her father, a man who should have been there to hold her, guide her, and watch her grow.
🚨Important points:
1- Gaza's police, NOT Hamas's Qassam militants, have been using a room at Nasser hospital after Israel bombed every police station
2- This does NOT make the hospital a legitimate target; civil police is NOT a target in wars
3- Hamas' gov shouldn't use a hospital for non-medical activities, but Israel should first NEVER target police stations to plunge Gaza into full societal collapse & accelerate its genocide
4- Gaza's police should've long been given "deconflicted" safe spaces to operate from to maintain civic order. Otherwise, out of desperation, the police will operate out of the few deconflicted spaces available; in this case Nasser (again, they shouldn't, but Israel first must not bomb police stations).
5- During Israel's genocide, crime rates exploded in Gaza after Israel facilitated the escape of dangerous incarcerated criminals, recruited some of those fugitives into organized well-armed proxy gangs & bombed law enforcement personnel systematically on sight. This created even more urgency & desperation for domestic policing.
6- Even after the ceasefire, Israel is still bombing police stations & make-shift detention facilities. This MUST STOP!
7- MSF's statement states that Nasser hospital is a "large compound" & the armed men were NOT operating "in areas where MSF has activities, but in other parts of the hospital compound."
8- MSF makes no claim that the armed men at Nasser harassed any of the medical teams, exploited them or interfered in their work.
9- The incidents of arrests of patients MSF reports are unacceptable & must be stopped. Even a wanted individual must first receive proper medical treatment before incarceration. "Israel does it too, way worse, more frequently" is not an excuse. One question is: arrest to where? If prisons & police stations have been bombed. MSF needs to clarify this point!
10- "Some masked men" could refer to police members, militias, armed individuals, or criminals. There have been multiple incidents where the Abu Shabab gang raided Nasser hospital or individuals would go to the hospital armed to get ahead of the queue (again, Israel engineered full societal collapse in Gaza deliberately).
11- A hospital doesn't lose its protected status during wartime unless it poses a direct threat to Israeli troops or Israel itself. A makeshift police station inside a large medical compound created out of dire desperation is NO evidence of "human shields"
12- Israel's military literally has an IDF chopper on top of Soroka hospital for Unit 669 to evacuate IDF soldiers from Gaza. That chopper is even proudly displayed at the hospital's entrance with a poster that reads “Israel’s Medical Iron Dome."
13- The police or any armed individuals must leave Nasser hospital immediately & Israel must simultaneously stop bombing hospitals.
