@DebStanish @neowhovian@brewsternorth Staying in a hotel is great but there are also some really great AirB&bโs that cost 1/2 the price in the neighborhood that are walking distance or a quick uber ride from the con.
@edwardrussell@OneManStands I donโt think you were being rude. Sometimes I can help, sometimes I canโt, regardless of the persons situation. Unfortunately you can never predict how someone will react.
@edwardrussell@OneManStands Itโs not wrong to not give someone money but keep in mind that a large majority of the homeless population suffer from mental health issues. It is not uncommon to have a person get unreasonably upset when you refuse to give them money especially if you look like you have it.
I left #gally1 feeling encouraged but I know there is still so much work to be done. I, like many fellow attendees, am committing to try harder. Itโs not just one person/group that will make this work & our cons better, it requires us all. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk 3/3
Thank you @gallifreyone I really think the panels/topics/moderators/interviews were significantly more representative & diverse. But weโre all part of the #Gally1 family & no one member of the family gets out of housework. 1/3
We all (no matter your platform size) need to encourage POC/women/LGBTQIA+/people with disabilities to get up and let their voices be heard. Especially those that may be a little scared to (like myself). Your voices should be heard, my voice should be heard, all our voices! 2/3
