Irish abortion statistics are now a story of two parts.
Huge success in care <10 weeks by GPs, 10-12 weeks by hospitals. Hats off to both.
Just 24 patients accessed care for risk to life and health.
No change from before the law changed.
Women continue to travel. This must end.
Thank you to the Irish people who voted YES.
Two years has really changed the reproductive healthcare of Irish women.
You made it happen.

GPs, clinics and hospital obgyn continuing to provide an abortion service.
Made easier for patients by @SimonHarrisTD emergency measures. Allowing those self isolating and cocooning due to illness to access timely, expert medical help.
#abortionishealthcare#thenorthisnext

A very welcome development.
It will ensure women continue to receive a community based abortion service during this pandemic.
Even if patient #COVID19 +ve or their GP is remote working due to self isolation.
Thankyou @SimonHarrisTD@Startdoctors#wewillprovide@freesafelegal
Health Minister Simon Harris has told Dáil that women looking to access abortion services will be able to consult remotely with their GPs.
Some TDs were seeking to remove the three-day waiting period for women to access medication to terminate pregnancy.
Seems like there's never been a better time for all governments everywhere to allow medical abortion pills consultations to happen over the phone and tablets sent by post. #AbortionWithoutBorders

Many women already travel long distances, have child care issues, may be self-isolating, may herself have symptoms.
GP service curtailed or closed if GP ill.
If lockdown occurs no travel abroad.
An appalling vista...
Change needed to regulations with
action NOW.
@freesafelegal
Serious concerns for pts and GPs re accessing abortion care during #COVID19IRELAND Mandatory 2 visits and 3 day wait but restricted access++. 14 year criminal sanction on GP for any change to this.
