We are so proud of Dr Khurram Sadiq, one of our leadership team in @DoctorsAutistic 🎉
Openly & proudly neurodivergent, showing leadership among peers, educating, smashing stigma & a great colleague too! We couldn’t be more delighted with his well deserved win. Thanks @rcpsych
#andthewinneris… Dr Khurram Sadiq from.
The judges noted that Dr Sadiq has enhanced our knowledge of AuDHD (co – occurring autism and ADHD) by sharing both his lived experience of neurodivergence and his clinical experience as a neurodevelopmental psychiatrist. #rcpsychawards

@AutisticDoctor@DoctorsAutistic @PSIAutismSIG @thriving_autist @AsIAmIreland @NeurodIreland What a glorious paper this is. I am having a proper weep over it. It's beautifully written and executed, of course. But the content, oh these stories are so affirming. It's a real gift. Thank you.

My take home points
- The power of humanity & connection
- You are not alone
- It's OK to ask for help
- Neurodivergence, disability, difference... Let's celebrate it not shame it.
@HelenBevan@anna_rebowska Absolutely agree. It was @dora_raymaker who introduced me to this concept & the work of Donella Meadows. It made me realise how & why we’ve had such an impact in @DoctorsAutistic - we are operating at the level of changing paradigms
If you read one thing tonight, let it be this.
An amazing interview with @AutisticDoctor
Stigma, fear, shame & prejudice stop autistic drs from being their authentic selves at work.
This has to stop.
Read and reflect....
@jessiehewitson
I was a doctor.
Then burnout & mental illness happened.
Thankfully,
I survived.
Too many fellow health professionals have died by suicide.
Let today be #TimeToReflect.
It's #NationalSuicideMemorialDay for health & care workers.
Let's spread our thoughts with a sea of 🌳.
This was my moment to pause & remember friends & colleagues I've lost to suicide.
It was also a moment to reflect on how far I have come,
How treatment & support can change everything,
And how life is definitely worth living.
#TimeToReflect#NationalSuicideMemorialDay
Today NHS Practitioner Health and @DoctorsDistress are officially launching an annual National Memorial Day for Health and Care Staff Lost to Suicide to take place on 17 September.
On this day, we want people to take a moment and reflect on healthcare staff who have died by suicide so that their lives can be honoured and remembered in a special way.
Since 2011, 2500 NHS staff have died by suicide- that’s four healthcare workers every week.
We urge you on this day to take time to reflect, perhaps have a minute’s silence or light a candle in remembrance. Their lives must never be forgotten.
