In Genesis 9:12-17, God sets the rainbow in the sky as His covenant with all humanity…a universal sign after the flood that He would never again destroy the earth with water. It’s been a symbol of God’s promise for thousands of years, long before any modern flag. Pride events are free to use colors, but claiming exclusive ownership while dismissing the Bible as “HIJACKED” when people reference its actual meaning comes across as the real appropriation. San Francisco can do its light shows; scripture stands on its own.

At Father’s Day dinner tonight my dad told us that one of his restaurants had been broken into the last four nights in a row. The perpetrators took mostly beer—bottled and tap—and broke some windows.
