On Pentecost Island, the three newly constructed pico-hydro systems, developed with support from the Government of Japan, have begun generating electricity for 26 settlements, providing 24/7 renewable power that directly benefits over 3,200 people and indirectly improves the lives of around 6,000 residents across the island. The pico-hydro systems will be handed over to the Government of Vanuatu on 24 March.
