It was a pleasure to be a part of the judging panel for the @FirstGiveUK final on Tuesday. @HAWimbledon use @FirstGiveUK as a platform to launch the volunteering section of the @DofE Award and encourage participants to engage in social action in their local community.
Yesterday we had our @FirstGive Final where 5 groups from Year 9 presented to convince a judging panel as to why their group deserved to win the £1000 donation to their chosen charity and to celebrate their Social Action Projects this year.
Some of the London team enjoyed a day out at the palace today to celebrate the 12,000 young people who have achieved their Gold Award. Massive well done to all of you!
Felix is a Duke of Edinburgh Award holder and is attending today’s service of thanksgiving for Prince Philip at Westminster Abbey.

Meet Maia, 20 from North London, who went on her Bronze Award expedition with a group of other young adults with additional needs.
She said "DofE was the most difficult thing I’ve ever done and I was worried I couldn’t do it. When I finished I felt so proud of myself."
Great to be part of this event last week and hear more from those who support young people with additional needs access and achieve their Award! #dofe#inclusion#SEND
