Because I live a life of chaos, I'm about to be on the radio to talk about dog birthdays. Tune in to BBC radio Nottingham in 10 minutes if you want to hear me be overly excited about how much I love dogs!
Autumn menu tasting tonight, with an amazing offer on our teas: try any and all of our teas for just the price of one small pot. Yum!
Hope to see you there π«π΅βπ
@open_nottingham Hello! Just to be clear, we do not offer dog training sessions on site. We do not have planning permission for it and would be shut down if we did! However, we are staffed by dog trainers, and run kindness cafe for dog training advice and signposting on Sundays :)
We are lucky enough to have a fixed unit price for electricity that lasts for 3 years, so energy costs aren't going to close us down this winter. This also means we intend to act as a community warming centre. Watch this space for info on other businesses doing this locally.
We have this sign in our windows, and for reassurance: we really mean it. Anyone who has a complaint about it probably isn't the sort of person we want in the cafe. Same goes for the wall of pride flags that says "we're queer all year".
Did you know we're selling slushies?
Come get one, and today only you get a free side order of us ranting about Liz Truss wrecking the planet and our wallets because solar panels aren't pretty enough!
The serious meeting was about the concept of "time theft" from an employee standpoint - she was worried that she'd stolen time from me today.
That's bollocks. The concept of time theft is a capitalist scam designed to help employers work employees to death.
Not in my cafe.
Dear Person sitting behind us when I was having a V serious meeting with an employee,
Dreadfully sorry that the coffee came out of your nose, but I'm right, at what other cafe job would it be acceptable for your colleagues to buy you gifts from the vagina museum??
xoxo

Sausage roll update: I have sold one of them to a v nice man with an extremely borky golden retriever. Anxiously awaiting the verdict. (The dog is called Alfie and he's a good boy but a bit overwhelmed)
Good morning! It is a lovely day in the cafe, and we've been cooking vegan sausage rolls. The member of staff with the most food issues has decreed them "better than greggs" which might be slander, but I'll accept it! Come and try them.
In our accessible toilet, we have a cupboard in which we keep spare supplies (most of which are listed below). These are free for the public to use and take as they need. Our toilets are also safe for trans folks to use. We see you, and we want you in our community and cafe.
We have a small but growing library of dog literature and queer literature. I can especially recommend Wain (by @smaychel ) for queer lit, and Canine Behaviour for dog lit.
