I had completely forgotten I wrote this last year.
In light of Mondays events in Montreal, and with @Polysesouvient's renewed push to spread misinformation surrounding its use, and push for the firearm to be prohibited, I have updated it.

Tracey,
You know I’m a serving police officer.
My heart is heavy over everything that has transpired over the past few weeks.
I’m owed no respect, trust or compassion by anyone. I choose to wear the badge and can chose to hand it in at anytime.
But I also find it rather suspect at best as to the actual compassion for the police by the anti-gun crowd.
When Cst. Bali was run down with a car. Crickets.
When Cst. Pinizzotto was felled with an illegal handgun. Nothing.
When my friend Cst. Bona was shot at with a person with multiple firearms prohibitions. Silence.
When two RCMP officers were shot by a person in possession of an illegal firearm. No tweets.
Yet when a clearly deranged individual shot and killed Cst. Benredouane, and it fit their agenda, well now, conveniently they have something to say.
Each and every one these officers that lost their lives had value. Yet only when one was killed with the tools they wish to see banned, do they feel the need to say something.
So investigate the shooter. If there was a failure of the licencing system, address it. Look at his family, his mental health, social groups, all of it. We owe that to every officer, and every Canadian. But as these past few weeks has shown, if you only focus on the TOOL used in these evil acts, the PERSON using the tool, will just find a a new tool. And we’ll be here again, whenever the next incident happens, saying the same things.
And with that said, I don’t appreciate being used as a tool for anyone’s agenda, and I don’t want to see a dead officer used as one either. Cst. Benredouane’s life was so much more than that.
Before the information on the firearm and it's source is identified, and before the victims are even buried, PolySeSouvient wastes no time seizing the opportunity this tragedy presents for their long-held and very public position on the SKS.
Despite a manifesto of over 100 pages detailing the killer's anti police, anti woman, antisemitic, anti-establishment, pro-communism views, PolySeSouvient reduces the complexity of this bizarre tragedy to a simple make and model of rifle. By targeting the rifle itself, rather than the killer, PolySeSouvient insults the intelligence of every Canadian who knows any firearm could have been used to commit this tragedy. This opportunistic behavior is deceptive and unhelpful.
Until we can have a mature conversation about what drives someone to this type of extremism, we will continue to have these unproductive debates, at the expense of the victims and their families.
Our hearts are with the brave police officers, the innocent victim and their loved ones.
@WSOnlineNews Is she implying that if it was illegal to use or own a gun in the city of Montreal, that would have prevented this? The ignorance of her statement is astounding.
This is a good time to remind everyone that the current head of @Polysesouvient, Heidi Rathjen, was awarded a severance package by the Quebec Health Ministry, after working as an advocate lobbying the Ministry on behalf of a tobacco control group - something so irregular it warranted the media coverage linked below. It's also worth noting that the Quebec government refused to elaborate on why they had decided to pay someone whose job was to lobby them.
Furthermore, she used to work for @cgcguncontrol, an entity that operates out of a Regional Directorate of Public Health of Montreal office; a fact that they conveniently left off their website when it was updated some years ago, but if you google "Coalition For Gun Control Montreal," will still return results with the address of the Montreal public health office, and phone number that if you call, leads to a Montreal Public Health office directory.
Lastly, Quebec has recieved an inordinate amount of the federal government's "gun and gang violence funding," as identified in an audit of the GGVAF funding distribution.
The only conclusion to be reached from this litany of evidence is that the governments of Quebec and Montreal are inextricably linked, both in terms of personnel and funding, to Canada's anti-gun lobby efforts.

Listening to the Montreal press conference, the mayor called for (you guessed it) more gun control.
It is reckless and irresponsible to use this tragedy to support your political narratives, no matter what side you’re on.
Shameful.
READ HIS MANIFESTO: The Montreal murderer was a Jew-hating Communist censor
The murderer in Montreal has been named: Seth Hatfield, from Alberta. He murdered a policeman in a shooting spree in a Jewish neighbourhood in Montreal.
Soon afterwards, government journalists at the CBC and elsewhere started describing a manifesto that he had left behind. But none of them published the actual document — they just quoted the odd phrase from it, and called him an “incel”. That’s a term for someone who was “involuntarily celibate”, or someone who didn’t do well with women. The usual suspects were doing the media circuit claiming that Hatfield was a “right wing” extremist.
But if that was true, why was the manifesto being shown only to selected, government-friendly journalists? Why were the rest of us blocked from seeing it for ourselves?
Well, that just changed. Rebel News has acquired a copy of the full, 104-page manifesto. You can read it for yourself right here: https://t.co/fAYaqOVZZe
It’s true that the murderer had extreme ideas about women. But that was only a small part of his world view. In most of the rest of his rambling remarks, he was indistinguishable from left-wing politicians like Bernie Sanders, Avi Lewis, or half the Liberal cabinet.
He praised Communism. He called for the abolition of private property. He railed against the Jews, and Zionism. And — like Mark Carney himself — he demanded the censorship of the Internet.
Read the manifesto of a crazed, left-wing extremist.
And never forget: the mainstream media lies to you about everything important.
@IrreverentOtter@Polysesouvient 100% guarantee they are praying he's a PAL holder as well. They have no soul. Expect some ludicrous post from them with the next 12 hours if not sooner.
WATCH: As Justice Minister @SeanFraserMP proudly called his new bail and sentencing law 'a major step forward,' even law enforcement present at the announcement couldn't help but remind those listening of the 'cost-in-lives' it took to get the Liberals to fix what they broke. 🇨🇦
BREAKING: CANADA INFLATION RATE RISES TO 3.2%
Massive gov't deficits, fraud, waste and abuse combined with a weakened currency will continue to add pressure on Canadians as the cost of living rises.
Time for our provincial and federal gov't to reducing this insane spending.
When families can't afford a home, the NDP says "too bad."
When developers can't sell a condo, the NDP says "here's $3.2 billion."
That tells you everything you need to know about their priorities.
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE: With the firearm amnesty extended a 4th time since 2020, forcing lawful gun owners to hold onto their newly banned firearms until sometime in 2027, fully exposes the lie that these tools, used by Canadians for generations, are "too dangerous for civilian use."
“Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.”
Section 7 was written to guarantee the life, liberty and personal security of all Canadians. 🇨🇦
It has failed.
The Charter has been forgotten, ignored, and as many Canadians have said, isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.
That needs to end.
The CCFR will continue to advocate for change, and strongly encourage the next govt to codify these inherent Canadian rights, making these principles actually mean something again.
If you agree, share this. #cdnpoli
What more evidence do we need?!
It's not the people with their PALs!
It's the criminals!
The gungrab program doesn't keep Canadians or police officers safe!
If anything, it keeps criminals safer because we cannot defend ourselves, in our own homes, BECAUSE YOU TOOK OUR GUNS!
Gun bans aren't intended to fight violent crime.
Social media bans aren't meant to protect children.
Limits to speech aren't meant to fight hate.
Wake up Canada, you're giving absolute control over your reality to the worst people on the planet.
