Go to sleep knowing….
Every night, God asks you to surrender control of a world you were never in charge of in the first place.
And yet, we lie awake rehearsing conversations, worrying about problems, and imagining circumstances that may never happen.
But remember this:
God does not need you to stay awake for Him to remain faithful.
Psalm 121:4 reminds us that the One who watches over His people neither slumbers nor sleeps.
That means while your eyes are closed, His are not.
While your mind is resting, His wisdom is not diminished.
While your strength is being restored, His power is not exhausted.
While tomorrow remains uncertain to you, it is already known to Him.
You don’t have to finish everything to rest in Him. Leave tomorrow where it belongs: in the hands of the Lord. The same God who carried you through today will be waiting for you when morning comes.
@BKsCorner@Breaking911 Yes but has been restricted to farmers & other specific uses. The EO allows anyone with a diesel (truckers, regular 250/350 truck owners) to use it including hwy use which isn’t allowed normally — the tax is only deferred for the expanded use due in January.
@MrEricBigE35190@Breaking911 Not quite. He is allowing red dye diesel on hwys for farmers/truckers and increased weight loads to haul more per trip. Still have to pay the state tax. Trump’s EO allows ALL to use red dye with deferred (& maybe eliminated) fed taxes that may need to be repaid on January.
@BGZA_@Breaking911 Not quite. TX is allowing red dye on hwys but it’s 20cent state tax on it still applies. So just expanded allowable use. Different states have developed different relief orders. ND dropped their state tax altogether & expanded allowable red dye use for ag.
@jessmbaum@Breaking911 About half a dozen states did this recently. In ND it expanded use for ag, dropping the state tax. No deferral. But the EO today is to defer the fed tax w/the possibility of eliminating it. Thats still unclear.
Of all of the “titles” given to Satan, remember this:
Satan is the accuser.
Here’s the difference…
Christ does not tell us that sin doesn’t matter.
No.
It matters so much that He died to save us from it.
But our sin is not greater than His mercy.
The devil wants your sins to drive you into despair.
You see,
the devil knows your sins,
and calls you by them.
Jesus knows your sins,
and calls you by Name.
Satan accuses and reduces you to the sum of your sins.
The blood of Christ redeems you into the creation he intended you to be as long live in this world:
Your sin is never greater than His mercy.
The Accuser is a liar.
The Cross is the proof. ✝️
@eyojoel77 Defensivess and being highly offenable because of an unhealed shame wound is a an immediate kill shot. Doesn’t even give uncomfortable conversations time to load its gun.
I treated you special because I’m special.
Some people mistake how beautifully you love them for proof they’re extraordinary.
Then you leave and they finally meet themselves without your magic.
@_ROB_29 I know someone who last set theirs up in 2024 between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Never took it down. It remains a permanent fixture for almost two years now.
Flu season starts the same week everyone begins three straight months of eating sugar, and nobody thinks to connect the two.
31 October, the children come home with a bucket of sweets each and work through it by bedtime.
5 November brings toffee apples and bonfire toffee.
1 December, the advent calendar opens, a chocolate every morning before school for 24 days.
By mid-December there's a tin of Celebrations on every desk in every office in the country, and a selection box eaten before Christmas breakfast.
Then, around New Year, flu peaks.
In 1973 a team of researchers in California gave volunteers 100g of sugar, roughly what's in three cans of cola, and then drew their blood. They were watching the neutrophils, the white blood cells that act as your first responders and swallow bacteria whole.
Within two hours, the neutrophils' ability to swallow bacteria had fallen by about half. Five hours later it still hadn't recovered.
It made no difference whether the sugar came as table sugar, honey or orange juice. The same glass of orange juice you're handed the moment you start sniffling was in the test.
Plain starch didn't do it. Neither did going without food for 60 hours.
So we spend the darkest months knocking our first line of defence flat several times a day.
Then we blame the weather.
@gershon_JP@nyttypos This is the first post of yours I read. I find it ironically hilarious. I also noticed you use Oxford commas. Most newspapers do not use them any longer. Does NYT use them?
