The science behind COVID-19 is not partisan.
And President-elect @JoeBiden and I will not only listen to the science—we will invest in it and the next generation of scientists.
Don’t let Cruz attend the inauguration. His attempt at sedition and his incitement to violent insurrectionists should result in his expulsion from the Senate. He certainly shouldn’t be allowed at a celebration of the peaceful transfer of presidential power.
In listing people to be praised for protecting our democracy against a seditionist mob, please include the press. Reporters filed harrowing stories under threat of violence. Some were physically assaulted. Amidst talk of the “First Amendment,” this must be part of the discussion.
Another lesson of this past week may be that it has not been such a great idea for civics and history classes to be reduced or eliminated in so many of our schools.

Watching returns from Georgia, it’s hard not to think about the hundreds of election workers who again tonight are carefully doing democracy’s business under unprecedented scrutiny, amid a raging pandemic, and with a president relentlessly and baselessly calling them thieves.
No reason for people to go hungry in the wealthiest country on the planet. The Biden administration can solve the challenge of hunger in America and improve our capacity to take on other big fights - climate, healthcare, justice. Hard to do big things on an empty stomach.
Unlike tax cuts for the wealthy, investments in infrastructure actually do pay for themselves in the long run.
Americans are ready for us to step up and do more.
