Animoca Brands, HK-based crypto investor and blockchain developer, announced today that it plans to go public on the @Nasdaq stock exchange through a reverse merger with CURRENC Group Inc. (Nasdaq: CURR).

After the transaction, expected to close in 2026, Animoca shareholders will own about 95% of the new entity’s issued shares, the companies said in a statement on Monday. Investors include Kingsway Capital, 50T Funds and SoftBank, Executive Chairman, Yat Siu said in an interview.

Incident Report:
This morning [Dec 26, 2024, 09:00 HKT], Yat’s official X account @ysiu was reported to have been compromised by unauthorized access despite with 2FA set up, where the bad actor used the account to post false information and links regarding a fake SOLANA token.

We have confirmation that X has secured control of the @ysiu account and is now in the process of verifying true account ownership. The evidence seems to suggest that this was a case of stolen identity as the account had standard security implementations (such as 2FA). Stronger security approaches are being considered and implemented. We deeply appreciate all the community support!

There is no compromise on Animoca Brands, Moca Network or MOCA Foundation official handles, and there are strict security measures in place.

Post-Incident Actions:
As safety measures, all key members and official accounts have updated all authentications. No additional vulnerabilities or unauthorized activities were identified.

Security Update:
The breach highlights the growing attention and interest in $MOCA, making it a target for malicious actors. We urge all community members to remain vigilant and adhere to the following precautions:
