I don't see anything wrong with this idea. Back in 1999, the Zeitgeist movement was proposing the same, essentially getting rid of money altogether and letting us be true contributors of this world while allowing machines to lift 80% of the human day-to-day tasks. Humans who have time and not the stress of financial hardship can automatically use their creativity and talents to perfect the world. That's purpose, expressing yourself through art, math, etc. and not working anymore for a paycheck.
