I had to look this up on that illegal contact call.
Illegal Contact & Holding: Unlike pass interference, standard rules for illegal contact (defensive contact against an eligible receiver beyond 5 yards downfield while the quarterback is still in the pocket) or defensive holding (which occurs before the pass is thrown) are separate infractions. If a defender shoves or holds a receiver illegally before a tip occurs, the penalty can still be enforced because a tipped ball does not automatically wipe away illegal contact or holding penalties the way it does for pass interference
@Marcel_LJ I was thinking he could have led him down the sideline and it could have been six, but I can’t tell when the ball was thrown and when Douglas got the space. Tape will tell.
