Difference between service and an experience. I can't make this up.

Got to Madison tonight. The plane wasn't even here, but @AmericanAir's computer said they were boarding, so they couldn't check my bags. I told her I was tracking it and we had at least 45 minutes. She said the system was locked and I'd have to be rebooked.

She called the manager. He couldn't come down for 30 minutes because he was up boarding flights. He told the desk agent there was nothing they could do. They handed me a number to call. I'm stuck until 8, connecting through O'Hare.

Walked down to @Delta. One of my favorite agents says, "Hi Dom, how are the kids and how's Ellie?" Remembered us by name. No information given. She looked up every option, couldn't get me out until morning, and was still willing to see if American would transfer the ticket.

That's an experience. There's a reason I'm a loyal Delta Diamond, and it isn't the direct flight. She apologized for American's mess. I told her the direct doesn't matter when the experience means everything to the customer. She laughed and said she can't wait to see me on the next one.

Although I would like to see @Starlink on @Delta.

Took Ellie, Lincoln, and my FIL to Chicago this weekend to see my brother and sister-in-law. We hit @shedd_aquarium, walked the Bean, had a great dinner at @TheSmith07, and stayed at @PendryHotels.

Chicago is where I got my first iPhone back in 2007 — and while we were here I picked up the iPhone 18 Pro in black from @Apple. Full circle.

Loved getting to share it with them.
