What is a man?

I have carefully constructed, deconstructed, and reconstructed the answer to that question, and the following is a culmination of 20+ years of experience

Right or wrong, these are a small sampling of the characteristics of a man that I challenge those entrusted to my care to uphold (in no particular order)

1) The strength of a man is not measured by the force he can apply, but rather the force he can refrain from using

2) A man must not make his way by taking advantage of the weak. It must be made by building with the strong

3) The moment a man attempts to triumph over another is the moment he has already lost; no matter the outcome. The competition is, and will always be, with oneself.

4) Danger is real; fear is a choice

5) Whether you believe you can, or believe you can't - you're right.

6) Don't do that which you will have to lie about

7) When all are gathered around your casket, what would you have them say of you? Be those things

8) Be mindful of the seeds you sow and where you sow them. Your garden will bless you or curse you

9) Strive to bear fruit in all seasons

10) If you treat your woman as if she is the best thing that has ever happened to you, she will be

11) Pick up your own slack. There is no weight a man will carry heavier than that which belongs to someone else

12) Honor and integrity is the currency of men
