Thailand is pushing false narratives. By now you’ve must have seen their posts multiple times but I hope anyone who sees this tweet takes a moment to try and understand our perspective as well.
Thailand celebrities are pushing biased information to win over international support. While it’s not wrong to do so, the way they are doing this simply wrong. Pushing accusations of Cambodian Militaries breaking the ceasefire is very dangerous as this could lead to conflicts actually continuing and does nothing to deescalate tensions. These are accusations are simply just that, accusations. Based of no evidence besides a statement from Thai Military Leaders.
We finally have a ceasefire, while this should be an indication to stop hostilities amongst one another, to talk, to find compromise and hopefully return to normalcy but instead they took the opportunity to fuel hate and changing narratives to seem like Cambodians are evil.
WE ARE NOT! We didn’t want this conflict since the beginning and our actions since May 28th shouldn’t be ignored!
When one of our soldiers died on May 28th died we did not respond using military might. Instead we went to the ICJ. Instead participating through talks, their government instead chose to close the border. In response we banned Thai goods. When they threatened to cut off electricity and the internet, our response was to rely on our own electricity and use internet services elsewhere.
Our actions have simply been just that! A response to actions by the Thai Government, whom have done nothing but escalate tensions any chance they get and now their media, celebrities and influencers are doing the same!

According to a recent report by a Thai newspaper, the acting Prime Minister of Thailand stated that Hun Sen and Hun Manet would be immediately arrested if found in Thailand.
If the newspaper’s publication accurately reflects the acting Prime Minister’s remarks, who is nearing the end of his term, it reveals that he is a reckless individual who lacks understanding of customary law and diplomatic protocol.
If Thailand is in a position to arrest Cambodian leaders, then Cambodia could likewise arrest certain Thai leaders who have invaded and killed Cambodian citizens.
Customary law has been violated by the aggressors.
Is this an effort to build trust and move toward better relations, or an act of provocation that could reignite conflict following the ceasefire agreement?
Thai Military Forces Set Up Barbed Wire in Ou Beichoan Commune on 12-13 August: Defence Spokesperson
(Phnom Penh): Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for Cambodian Ministry of National Defence, reported that on 12-13 August 2025, Thai paramilitary forces and Thai border forces inspected the area in front of the Chouk Chey checkpoint. They set up barbed wired and placed tire in Chouk Chey village, Ou Beichoan commune, Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province in Military Region 5.
According to the spokesperson, Cambodia demands that the Thai side immediately and unconditionally hold all actions that violate ceasefire and the spirit and consensus reached at the GBC extraordinary meeting, particularly Point 2 and Point 4.

Cambodian Defense Ministry spokesperson: On 12–13 Aug, Thai paramilitary forces and border police set up barbed wire and placed tires in Chokchey village, Ou Beichoan commune, Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province.
Thai heavy machinery, including excavators, entered the An Ses area—Cambodian territory—and began clearing the area, despite the ongoing ceasefire. Thailand clearly breached the agreement.
I hope Sweden takes notes. I hope the world takes notes.
I hope the world see Thailand as exactly who they are and not who they pretend to be.
For the first time in history, Thailand used Gripen fighter jets to bomb Cambodian soil.
Thai netizens are celebrating it and there are so many more which I will drop in the thread below. Mind you that this is only from a single article, an a combination from various posts or media outlets. Just a single post.
We are told to be “grateful” for the attack. Mocked as “Cambodian dogs.” Told to “thank Thailand” for letting us taste what it’s like. The cruelty in the comments is staggering.
This isn’t just a few trolls. It’s everywhere, across major pages, under news reports, in replies.
Yes. Soldiers have died.
But to them? It’s entertainment.
This isn’t “just the internet.” It’s a chilling reflection of how suffering is mocked when it’s not your own.
You may not know war. But we do. And it’s not a joke.
RESPECT CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT

Who else woke up this morning wondering where Cambodia’s soldiers are?
As of 7AM, Thailand has still not released the remaining 18. What’s the delay?
Cambodia continues to call for their swift and safe return. 🙏

@JamesPGoddard90@stillwonkis@jacobincambodia Well let me introduce you to an even bugger shit stirrer called Thailand
-Accuses another nation of breaking a ceasefire with no proof
-Announcing the return of soldiers and then not doing so
Would you hold them accountable, too?
