As believers, generosity shouldn't be something we argue against. It should be one of the clearest evidences that God is working in our hearts.

Notice what Paul is saying. He isn't forcing anyone to give. He's talking about the posture of the heart. Give willingly. Give cheerfully. Give generously. Not because someone manipulated you, but because your heart has been transformed by Christ.

Sometimes people quote, "not under compulsion," but ignore "God loves a cheerful giver" and "whoever sows generously will also reap generously." We shouldn't pick the part of Scripture that makes us comfortable and leave the rest.
