Over the past few weeks I've been quietly giving my first iOS app a proper rethink.
Doko started as a learning project. It's becoming something I actually want to exist in the world. 🧡
Here's the story →
Happy 2026 🎊
I have been quiet but very busy building Jots, moving pixels and learning new SwiftUI tricks. @nimtim and I have been testing the MVP with some close friends and we'll be opening TestFlight to more people 🙌
Pushing my technical understanding of data architecture in Swift, but finally managed to evolve the very first prototype of Jots (https://t.co/lZoeogTdaK) with a new data model. From now, I will focus more on the UI ✨ #buildinpublic
Been working on a What's New screen today — starting simple, but I have a plan to evolve it into something nicer ✨
BTW, I find What's New in What's you so meta...

Facing a small database dilemma while building Jots (https://t.co/lZoeogSFlc) - should I go SwiftData + CloudKit (what I am currently doing) or something like Firebase/Supabase? #Swift#iosdev
It’s early days to have a clear objective on whether I’ll need cross-platform support or collaborative support. But I know this decision will be difficult to revert down the line.
This is so far the most fun, satisfying and delightful thing that I designed and built for the @jotstheapp's waitlist!
Very proud of this!
P.S. We are about to reach 50 sign ups. Who will be number 100? 💛 #buildinpublic
What a great feeling getting back to some SwiftUI. I am having fun with some iOS26 new bits while building Jots after a super productive brainstorming session with @nimtim. I wish we already had a first version of Jots to Jot down our ideas! #buildinpubic
How often do you review your old ideas? And do you ever look at them from a different perspective? 🔭Still building a tool that may help — Join the waitlist 👉

1/8: I used to hate side projects. They felt like homework, and I was that kid scribbling random words right before class because I forgot it was due 😅
Now I'm building one... 🧵
I’ve wanted to start so many things, but kept stalling on confidence, validation and structure. My friend @nimtim and I are building Jots — a home to capture + validate ideas so you can ship confidently. Join the waitlist: https://t.co/URbQoYM7l4 #buildinpublic 🚀
Jots is a focused home for early ideas — more guardrails than a notes app, before project management. We’re at a very early iOS prototype, building this outside our day jobs.
