Here’s the deal with cranks and wingnuts: you know that they are cranks and wingnuts because no matter how much the press, the courts and the government combine to enforce their demands, they just keep getting angrier and angrier and they never stop screaming and jabbing fingers.
Trans people already face stark health inequalities. NHSE's new guidance risks making trans patients afraid to seek emergency care at all.
For a community already facing disproportionately high rates of poor mental health and suicide, that's unsustainable.
We need change.
@ThomsonJohnsol7@jordanrstokes That's the thing about science, the less you know - the less you realise the "fundamental rules" come with large caveats. I can remember my a level biology and chemistry teachers telling me "forget everything we taught you in GCSEs, it was basically all a lie"
Solely because of hysteria. Trans people haven’t done anything. All this misery, nastiness and death because of a billionaire who politicians can only see as the writer of Harry Potter. They couldn’t possibly be bad.

This is not a grand statement, as I'm not a fan of when non-Ministers/MPs do those, but just to say that tomorrow I'll be resigning from @NHSEngland's LGBT+ Sounding Board over the NHS's announcement that all trans staff and patients must use facilities of their biological birth.
After the FWS case, I started using the accessible toilet at work. People questioned why I switched, I went back to the men's because I was outing myself changing that behaviour at work. Having to out yourself at work was the exact reason for the GRA coming into force...

@jordanrstokes The only end goal I can find is that trans people won't seek healthcare, and will die. "48% to go" mentally within our healthcare system...
I would rather leave AMA and die on the street outside the hospital than be oogled at for accessing healthcare.
What this guidance suggests is a degrading humiliation ritual.
And they have the cheek to say it's for the privacy, dignity, safety and respect of all patients.

So you're telling me that when it is deemed necessary to treat trans people with dignity and respect (as a last resort), you expect us to then publicly out said trans person to every other patient AND their relatives. Tell me again this is about privacy, dignity and respect...

I assume that there will be no male staff on female wards, or female staff on male wards or else the whole rationale for single-sex wards is redundant, right?
Nah this is just a trans genocide plain and simple...

Okay so we're back to pretending
- the NHS isn't under constant bed pressure
- men don't work on wards
- curtains don't exist
- you aren't kicked out of hospital as soon as can walk
- and wards aren't heavily surveilled & constantly patrolled?
Excellent, glad I checked.
