@otokyo There's a major gap in your logic; if you're dead, you can't "find out" anything. After you cease to exist, the characters you created in your cerebrum will also cease to exist.
@DrNeilStone I don't understand why people are comparing hantaviruses to coronaviruses, am I missing something? The cluster of Andes virus infections on a single cruise ship is nothing to panic about, just keep washing your hands when you come home and before you eat, you'll be fine.
Personally, with the exception of localized muscle pain with the tetanus vaccine, I never got any side effects from vaccines. But thinking about it, do we have statistics about side effects by types? I guess minor side effects are probably not even reported. Are the genetic instructions types more prone to cause temporary side effects compared to traditional vaccines? If yes, it could explain why some people are more afraid, temporary side effects could make a person wrongly deduce that a vaccine is dangerous.

@BostonByBirth Poor little boy, he was so cute! I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm a father too, your post made me cry. Thanks for sharing this experience with us, we are strangers but we are all humans.
Vaccination has changed everything; the majority of us wouldn't exist if it weren't for this incredible progress in science. We live in an era where access to information is easier than ever before in human history; ignorance is a choice. But to vehemently oppose the scientific method to the point of denying reality is to venture into territory where the psychiatrist feels right at home.
The second half of the 90s, when the Internet was raw, unfiltered by algorithms, full of easily accessible pirated content and limitless. Maybe as we get older we add a layer of romance and perfection to our memories. But at 15, in the middle of the 90s, I bought my first computer after a summer of hard work in a shop doing 40h+ a week, great memories.
Another souvenir from the beginning of the 90s. I was 10, I remember going to a flea market by bike with a friend, it was 10km away from our home. We used to buy erotic playing cards to resell for profit at our elementary school (I know, it's very weird). Society felt safer or maybe our parents were just unaware of the danger but today, I can't imagine letting my son, 12, going 10km away on his bike to buy stuff at a flea market. Are we preventing them from discovering the world, taking risks and making mistakes?
I know your comment is emotionally charged with all the hate and violence coming from the Republican. But I wonder, do we have real statistics on the subject? I would be curious to see the number of these types of abuse related to the political spectrum from the left to the right. And other types of crimes too.
@Canada, why are we not sending help to Cuba? We have the resources and the knowledge to help them. And we benefited from this country for many years to travel cheaply.
