Just ran across this quote today "Don't look back, you're not going that way!" Recently I have been spending a lot of time at work thinking about what has been going wrong. This helped me refocus on steps to get to the vision we have as a department
Sure, new development is great, but maintaining a product long-term has many perks:
- Customer feedback
- Less time pressure
- Learn how to scale
- Move faster by reusing existing code
- Learn the long-term impacts of your design decisions...and get to fix some of them!
Got a big week coming up. I will be sharing the information a gained this past week at the @pluralsight conference. Hopefully we can make some small changes to have some big impact
