@BMiggy No clue why Mendoza decided to waste Myers in the blowout instead of having him open for Peterson. Like why continue doing something that worked lol
@TreIindor20 Idk why Mendoza stopped having Myers open for Peterson. It seemed to be working for both of them but we apparently needed Myers for mop up duty last night so sean manaea could pour gasoline on a dumpster fire in a high leverage situation tonight
@BMiggy And yet last night Mendoza decided to use Myers in a blowout instead of having him open for Peterson. Then we get the dynamic duo of Peterson and Manaea who get tagged for 13 runs. Mets probably weren't scoring enough regardless but Mendoza took away any chance
@KyleGelling As soon as we decided to use Myers in a blowout last night this was the predictable outcome. Myers as the opener and peterson as bulk had been working so naturally Mendoza decided to not do that and go back to something that wasnt working
@ChrisKlemmer Is there any explanation as to why we gave up on using Myers as an opener for peterson? It worked for both of them but instead we decided to use Myers in a blowout and let peterson continue to struggle as the starter
@metsbatflip1 Carlos Mendoza made the decision to start Peterson when he had been successful in long relief. He also made the decision to use Myers in a blowout yesterday. This is on him
@SteveGelbs Why didnt the team use Myers as an opener and Peterson as bulk relief? It had been working but we needed to Myers in a blowout and then stack lefties together
@BMiggy Why did the mets give up on Myers being an opener and peterson being bulk relief? It seemed to be working but we needed to use Myers up 8 runs last night
@JakeBrownLive Is there any explanation of why the mets gave up on having Myers open and then peterson be bulk relief? It seemed to be working but apparently we needed to use Myers up 8 runs last night
@ragazzoreport Was there any reason the mets abandoned the Myers opener and peterson bulk relief when it had been working? Seems ridiculous to just abandon that strategy when it had been successful
@AnthonyDiComo I need to know why they did not continue with using Myers as the opener and then peterson as the bulk relief pitcher. It had been working but instead we opted to use Myers up 8 runs last night, have peterson start when he has been bad as a starter and good as a bulk relief guy
@burnerusmnt I'd throw Stefano Pioli in there too if he can speak English. He did great with Pulisic and Musah, and his tactics work great with our current roster set up
