@sollidnuclear Don't worry , france will build dry cooling tower with closed water circuit ( air cooling). It uses the power of the plant (2 %) and big electric fans. It works very well in Arizona USA. No needs of river water.
@minenergybiz They will be forced to build dry cooling towers (air cooling) in the futur, it uses big electric fans to cool the water. it works very well.
@minenergybiz A part is near the ocean (15 reactors). 1/3 are on maintenance in summer or reduced during heat waves in the south. We can build a dry cooling tower with closed water circuit to help in summer. It works like that in Arizona USA
@razamkha India has the rafale F3 and only 1 destroyed returning to its air base because India didn't know the real range of chinese missile Pl-15. The Rafale has damaged a lot of pakistan airbases without loss. India needs best radar airplane like swedish Saab linked to their missiles
@Jim_n_Texas@Osint613 Geothermal is superior because it puts heat in the underground in summer with low electric power and we can take it in winter for free. District cooling networks using geothermal energy will need to be built in the neighborhoods.
@Jim_n_Texas@Osint613 France has almost 30 % houses/buildings with A/C or heat pump reversible. The global warming is faster than expected. The solution is high insulation, heat pump reversible , geothermal everywhere.
@Osint613 the heat wave is finished in france. Nanterre is full of immigrants , african population. They are not even able to buy a ventilator all along the year ! They wait the last minute
@tanpukunokami Paris is special, they have historic buildings and they can't put split A/C (with 2 parts) on the exterior facade. It should be a common A/C on the roof but It's very difficult to install the refrigerant pipes in every apartment.
@tanpukunokami The solution for France is not 100 % A/C but high insulation + geothermal + heat pumps reversible. 30 % french houses/buildings have A/C or heat pump reversible. All new houses must have heat pumps reversible or biomass heating (supported by a subsidy).
@tanpukunokami France has always been a temperate country until 2000's. France had 5 % A/C in 2003 and 30 % in 2026. Global warming is faster than expected. Now we are forced to cool houses/buildings in summer.
@JaneSmi89760694@tanpukunokami france has 63 GW nuclear power installed , in summer they are on maintenance with 35 GW - 40 GW max. 100 % A/C needs 10 GW . Fortunatly we have 30 GW solar + 30 GW wind power installed to provide enough electric power in summer. .
@Faithlessnomad3@Jarrapin french npp near the ocean never stop. In the 70's 80 's , there was no global warming in france or very few. We can add a dry cooling tower and the others won't stop in hot summer.
@Jarrapin You can put dry cooling tower with closed water circuit , cooled with big electric fans. They have the same in Arizona. A nuclear power plant can work in a desert without water.
