Yes this song is talking about us being Black in all of our glory. That includes LGBTQIA+ people! It’s a message that a lot of straight, cisgender Black people need to hear, because, to them, being queer overshadows our Blackness. But we’re Black first! Our skin is what is noticed first. Not our queerness.
