Before he passed, I had the privilege of feasting on the ever so popular and utterly delicious Oxtail stew made by Les da Chef. This morning, I thought of him then made his recipe for dinner with a few tweaks here and there. I hope heโs looking down with a nod of approval ๐
Devastating news, a wine farm in Stellenbosch was hit by a fire. My thoughts and prayers are with @Blaauwklippen family and all the employees affected. ๐ฅฒ
Pt1. I have always had great respect for those working in retail. Now that I work in a store, 6 days a week, public holidays too. I clock about 10km a day, on my feet for 13 hours a day. My physical and now mental health is taking a massive knock.
Pt.2 most days weโre treated with such disrespect. Spoken to as if youโre lower than the scum of the earth. I pride myself on exceptional customer service, today I was told unprovoked that I am incompetent and useless. I am tired on all levels. This canโt be life.
Two things LesDaChef preached and are now part of my kitchen life.
1. Don't use oil when cooking pasta.
2. Don't put cinnamon in pumpkin.
I miss the chap and his random tips on the TL. He wanted all of us to be better cooks and didn't see us as competition like these new chefs.
