Western countries threatening Rwanda with sanctions will not solve the long-standing insecurity in Eastern DRC. Nothing can intimidate or frighten Rwanda more than the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, which happened while the world stood by and watched in silence. It was our President, Paul Kagame, who led the liberation struggle that ended the genocide and rescued the nation from total destruction. Rwanda’s history has shaped a people defined by resilience, courage, determination, and an unwavering commitment to protecting the country’s security, sovereignty, and dignity at all costs.
