@andrewdansby In your coverage in the Chronicle of Texas towns and Willie Nelson, you omitted Nacogdoches where Willie recorded an album. If you haven’t, you should visit the music store there and talk with the owner, Dana Wood. Lots of Willie memorabilia.
Against a noticeably talented Houston Christian team, Clear Lake prevailed 78-65 in their first game in 12 days. Travis Cowen made the highlight reel when he closed out the 1st half with a buzzer beater from 4 feet beyond the mid court line. Lake starts district play Jan 5.
@TXInvitational does it again. This year’s tournament was, as it is every year, a superb boys basketball tournament. The quality of the competition, the organization, and the execution make this one of the premier tournaments in the nation. Many Thanks!
Clear Lake travels to Clear Brook Saturday. After Clear Lake’s impressive victory over Dickinson, Clear Brook will be loaded with both barrels. Clear Brook’s only loss of the season was to Clear Lake. Get there early.
FYI: In the last 55 years no player in the boys state basketball tournament has made more free throws (single game) than Clear Lake’s Tim Glover (1990, 15 of 18). Two players made more than Tim in 1956 and 1965.
Come early to the games. Last night at Krueger Field House fans were turned away and missed seeing Clear Lake prevail over a previously undefeated Brook team 58-57.

@tpnyy For the 2nd game of the season Clear Lake looked very impressive against one of the top state-ranked TAPPS teams. Without Lake’s leading scorer and with less than 24 hrs of rest, Lake was within 3 twice late in the game. 😃😃😃
