It takes an incredible team to keep the @CityofEdmonton running and serve our community. From the front lines to the back rooms, every single colleague makes this place thrive. I am personally grateful to each of you — it’s been an honour to serve with you. Thank you! #yeg
Remember the end of Cable Guy when the tv signal drops and everyone opens a book and/or reconnects with loved ones?
Thanks for the nudge, Elon.
I’m turning this off for now.
NEW: Kenney gov't was improper, "unreasonable" and breached Public Health Act in how they lifted school mask mandates this year, judge rules. https://t.co/2z30tin09M
There is again talk about having municipal political parties.
It’s a terrible idea for many reasons.
The main reason is it means allegiance to the party and not the people you serve. Look provincially or federally to see that in action. #yegcc#yyccc#ableg#abpoli#cdnpoli
CAEH's President and CEO, @timrichter, is featured in today's @globeandmail sharing five ways governments can urgently act to stop increasing homelessness across the country. Read it here ⬇️ https://t.co/hbqKY3o395
People like this (and I'm a fan!) have it all backwards. Municipal politics is the most interesting level of politics, and it's all downhill from there.
The WEF narrative has changed. Used to be the far left that saw WEF as an evil force in the world, now it is the far right. Closer to home, here is a 2014 story where Danielle Smith (Wildrose leader) complaining about the WEF NOT meeting in Alberta.

Dear @ABDanielleSmith
- Vaccines saved millions of lives
- Therapeutics WERE studied (#ivermectin ineffective)
- Consensus (body of evid) is how science works
Pls, for AB, climb out of rabbit hole. Don't inform policies with lies, myths, & misinformation.

There are several therapeutics being used for #covid in Alberta that have actual scientific evidence to support their use (unlike hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin).
This includes dexamethasone, remdesivir, tocilizumab and Paxlovid.
#followthescience#ableg#abhealth
What an incredibly disrespectful and dangerous thing to say about people who have been working tirelessly to keep Albertans safe and healthy. I’d be insulted if anyone said that but for the Premier to say this, it is incredibly damaging to our province. #ableg#abpoli#yeg
This is not how you build relationships & partnerships to serve Albertans. Municipal & provincial elected officials have a duty to work together to make lives better for people we collectively serve. This resolution crushes collaboration.
#OnThisDay in 1867: The US takes possession of Alaska after purchasing it from Russia.
Pictured here is the treasury warrant for $7.2 million (less than 2 cents an acre) that completed the purchase.
Today, 25% of US-produced oil & over 50% of US seafood come from Alaska.
@Justin_Ling@DuaneBratt I 100% agree. The absence of reflection and testing of alternate views is a huge gap in wisdom.
Is it ignorant or is it cynical in this case? Or, perhaps to both your points, is it now a tragic combination of both?
These are tough to read (but I’m grateful for @Justin_Ling’s efforts all the same).
It’s sad, because I actually think the premier is actually a very curious person, and curiosity is a precondition of wisdom.
But there is precious little governing wisdom down the rabbit hole.
@DuaneBratt@Justin_Ling I 100% agree. The absence of reflection and testing of alternate views is a huge gap in wisdom.
Is it ignorant or is it cynical in this case? Or, perhaps to both your points, it’s now a maddening combination of both.
Did you know that the City of Edmonton is updating our Zoning Bylaws? Sounds dry, but it has big impacts on how we build and what our city will look like in the future.1/3
Valuable explainer/debunker of that fast-spreading new claim that Pfizer says it never tested shot as transmission-stopper:
a) yeah. Was tested for prevention of contracting covid & symptoms
b) later tests found that yes Pfizer vaccine prevents spread. https://t.co/3cvAJds06V
