I remember when we were in school in Ilorin, one of my hostel guys got a girl pregnant back home. He begged her not to keep the baby, but she refused.

Fast forward, the baby was born, this guy was still struggling financially. One day, the girl reported him to Human Rights, and they came to our hostel to pick him up. 😂😭

They took him to their office and told him how much he had to pay every month to take care of the child.

When he came back to the hostel, he gave me the full gist. I asked him one question:

“Bro, you don run DNA test?”

My guy looked at me like I was mad. 😭😂 He had never even thought about it!

Long story short, this guy had to save money for months to do a DNA test. The result came back…

99% NOT HIS CHILD. 😭😭😂

Since that day, this guy has never stopped thanking me for saving his life. He even hyped me again today after watching my Manchester United video, and that’s what reminded me of this story. 😂😂😭

Getting financial independence & better skills should be the main goal of junior doctors.

Before Joining this race, remember there will always be a better place, dream or next level.
Psychologically pushing you to do more which is fine.

You will always feel there are other doctors in a better position than you.

Don’t stop growing but also look for your mental health and your family.

Yes, Doctors took an oath to save lives. But you cannot ask them to keep saving lives if you keep owing them salary, paying them mediocre wages, giving them little to no quality medical facilities to work with.

Doctors who are well paid abroad never have to worry about these. Hold your leaders accountable and leave Doctors alone. The only thing you should be saying to Doctors is "Thank You."
