-gyms exist
-Coke Zero exists

And you’re not SMASHING the gym like a GRATEFUL SAVAGE!? Eating healthy 90% of the time, calling your friends for no reason, CRUSHING IT in your career ASKING for a raise, asking out your crush making her your girlfriend then your wife!?

You’re spinning on a sphere in an infinite universe and the fact you’re alive is a 1 in 500 trillion miracle - you’re so lucky it’s absurd and you have nothing to lose :)

He said thinking of every good and happy thought kept him going. At one point, he even thought about Thomas the Tank Engine. He said it felt like God was doing the swimming for him.

So much could be said about the miracle of this boy and his family, and there’s a lesson there on the power of the mind.

If he’d spent the swim thinking about how mad or scared he was to be in this situation, I don’t think he would have made it to shore. If he’d began his journey with any sort of grievance toward his mother, I don’t know if he would have found the strength to survive.

In effect, there are thoughts that lead to life and those that lead to death.

When I was in Minneapolis, I heard a number of crazy stories. But near the top of the list:

A couple of off duty ICE and CBP officers were going to dinner in Minneapolis. They were doxed and their location revealed, and the restaurant was then mobbed. The officers were locked in the restaurant, and local police refused to respond to their pleas for help (as they've been directed by local authorities). Eventually, their fellow federal agents came to their aid.

This is just a taste of what's happening in Minneapolis because state and local officials refuse to cooperate with immigration enforcement. They have created the chaos so they can have moments like yesterday, where someone tragically dies and politicians get to grandstand about the evils of enforcing the border.

The solution is staring everyone in the face. I hope authorities in Minneapolis stop this madness.

There was a line from Zohran Mamdani’s inaugural address yesterday that took my breath away. He said he intended to replace “the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.” Collectivism in its various forms is responsible for the deaths of at least one hundred million people in the last century. Socialist and Communist forms of government around the world today—Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, etc.—are disastrous. Catholic social teaching has consistently condemned socialism and has embraced the market economy, which people like Mayor Mamdani caricature as “rugged individualism.” In fact, it is the economic system that is based upon the rights, freedom, and dignity of the human person. For God’s sake, spare me the “warmth of collectivism.”
