For 5 years he played Martinelli in the wings despite the guy being incapable of dribbling ...

and instead of playing to his strengths ie telling players to hit the ball early into space .. he kept passing the ball to his feet.

Any idiot with IQ above room temperature would shift Martinelli to a striker role where he can utilise his pace, excellent movement/instincts and solid first-time finishing ...

But no ... he put Kai, who has ZERO PACE, and fans are surprised when he scores.

He bought Kai and Merino as midfielders... now they play as strikers... because they are shit midfielders

both identical profiles... so whats the point having 2 lanky mids who cant carry/progress the ball

He bought Zubamendi as final piece... only to bench him for youth player that the genius was playing as LB and nearly ruined his career/confidence

Now we spent another 75m to fix the issues of the guy we got last summer for 65m

Arteta is part of the problem... He gave his blessings on players like Kai Havertz when Kava was available.

Since Xhaka left... we bought Havertz to replace him for 65m... then we bought Merino for 40m... then we shifted Rice to Merino's position, and we got Zubimendi for 60m...

Now we bought Bruno G for 75m... while also having MLS in midfield.

That tells you Havartz ... Merino and Zubaminid were All ARTETA mistakes that cost 200m

Let's not forget 65m Eze, who was supposed to play LW but could not ...

So that's nearly 300m of misfits ...

Which is why last summer we had to pivot to Gyok cos we could not afford 90m for sesko and Etikite

I agree... he does not have the pace to be a LONG-TERM solution there

But Nwaneri looked more physically built this summer... he is a better dribbler, decision-maker and finisher than Maduweke...

unless he was adamant not to play on the wings (which may be one reason for tense relationship with Areta) ... but i doubt it given he'll be part of winning team

Especially that Downam is NOT a winger .. his long-term future is central ... so we needed to see how Nawri can do with more reps on RW
