Man encourages other men to enter women’s single-sex bathrooms and changing rooms because, he says, men like him have a right to be there if they want to be, no matter what the law says or how women feel about it.
Met, and interviewed, a lot of world leaders in my time. Few have impressed me more than President Zelensky. He’s a man of great courage, resilience, and determination, and deserves the support of everyone who cares about defying dictators. @ZelenskyyUa
All of Carlson’s disingenuous techniques are on display here. Half-truths, quotes of context, taking what the other person says and twisting it. Mehdi has a similar playbook.
You have to be exceptionally good even to hold your own, and Rees Mogg owns him.
Thank you to Mikhail Gorbachev for helping fact check Tucker here.
This whole interview was surprisingly insightful for revealing the central conflict in our world today.
People like Tucker don’t hide it anymore.
It’s between those who support a better rules-based world of nation states and those, like Tucker, who want to see the world dragged back to an age of empires - just as Hitler and Stalin tried together.
Tucker is enthralled to Russia, repeatedly arguing that countries like Britain wouldn’t be threatened if they just let Russia take Ukraine and dominate its neighbours.
Anyone with a basic understanding of history ain’t buying it.
Jacob Rees-Mogg puts up a firmer defence of nation states than Tucker was expecting.
He points out that signalling weakness to dictators and letting them consume ever more territory does not enhance anyone’s security.
In reality, all nations are better off when sovereignty is respected within a rules-based system that allows smaller countries to exist too.
It’s the most basic principle of the post-WW2 era, which helped create the most extraordinarily prosperous and peaceful period of world history. And that includes the sovereign right of every nation to decide its own security alliances hence why, as Gorbachev says, there was no agreement that countries like the Baltics can’t join NATO.
Tucker refuses to answer whether it was a mistake for the US to guarantee Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, along with the UK and Russia, in exchange for Ukraine giving up nuclear weapons.
He can’t answer because he clearly still wants nations like Ukraine to lower their defences in exchange for false guarantees.
Remember that.
I never want to hear the term “Russia hoax” again.
Journalists like @carolecadwalla raised the alarm about Russian influence for years and were called lunatics. Now they are fully vindicated.
A Russian oligarch literally helped bankroll the US President’s son’s wedding.
Christopher Harborne - the Reform mega donor who gave Farage £5m - is suing ex-Reform deputy leader, Ben Habib.
The particulars of claim have now been published. And we need to talk about them.

AI companies are purchasing large quantities of used and rare books. Scanning their contents to train models. Then turning the originals to pulp.
The sum of human thought, digitized and shredded.
Every book that gets scanned disappears from the physical world permanently. The knowledge survives only as training data inside a system no one can hold, browse, or resell.
What used to sit on a shelf for centuries now exists as weights in a model that might get deprecated next quarter.
With the US now experiencing a major comeback of foodborne diseases, which may or may not be linked to having no regulations and the criminally insane in charge of things, I figured it was time to finish my guide to US food that you cannot sell as food in most of Europe.🧵
As I have said before, Liz Truss is on firmest territory when she criticises the Bank of England for allowing pension funds to take on excessive debt-fuelled exposure to government bonds via LDI schemes. It is extraordinary there has been no formal investigation of how this exposure was allowed to become so dangerous, who knew what and when about it in the Bank of England, the Treasury and Whitehall, precisely when Truss and Kwarteng were told about it, and what impact it had on the government funding crisis that was sparked by the mini budget. The impression has been created of an establishment cover up. This is deeply unhealthy for democracy
Very much looking forward to seeing the 10,000s of you supporting the UK starting on the path to #RejoinEU
