I think the same as well. I think we will want to get the Fernández deal wrap up first, then we will focus on the left back in second, with city dealing with forest to get an agreement on a deal. If city arrived to get a deal done, we will pounce on it with a slightly higher fee

🚨I don’t understand why Manchester United seem to have cooled their interest in Angelo Stiller from VfB Stuttgart.

Reportedly available for around €50m and if the club are prepared to spend similar money on Ederson, then why not seriously push for Stiller?

Angelo Stiller is extremely intelligent on the ball, calm under pressure and capable of controlling the entire tempo of a match from deep areas. He’s not just a passer — he’s a proper midfield conductor.

The way he breaks lines, switches play and dictates possession is elite. He constantly makes himself available, reads the game quickly and gives structure to the entire team.

The only logical reason I can think of for the club stepping away is maybe because they are seriously planning to sign Mateus Fernandes, since he also naturally likes to operate as a deep-lying playmaker and progress the ball from deeper positions.

But even then, Stiller at €50m in today’s market feels like a very smart opportunity for a club trying to rebuild its midfield properly.

Tier 1: Elliott Anderson : Box-to-box energy, excellent progressive passing, and works hard off the ball. Fits the “British core” idea and offers high upside without huge risk.

Tier 2: Mateus Fernandes (or Angelo Stiller)
I lean Fernandes for his dribbling and creativity from deep, young, technical, and ready to step up. Stiller as strong alternative for positional discipline and work rate. Both bring smart, technical profile to complement.

Tier 3: Ayyoub Bouaddi or Mamadou Sangaré
Bouaddi for pure long-term potential (young, athletic, Moroccan talent with upside).

- Sangaré as the more ready-made physical option with strong duels and ball-winning. Good value gamble at this tier.

Why this trio?
Youthful, dynamic, and balanced: Anderson’s energy + Fernandes/Stiller’s technique + Bouaddi/Sangaré’s physicality/progression.

Focuses on potential + value rather than big names. Smart rebuilding.

Landing Baleba and Mateus Fernandes for a combined £120m would be an absolute steal—exceptional business value-wise, considering both their ages and the inclusion of the quality you would be getting. Ideally, the club should get the Mateus Fernandes deal done before the World Cup. Baleba might take more time depending on Brighton, but since he won't be going to the World Cup, it’s less of a problem. They would be great additions to a team that is already on the rise and most importantly they're prem proven.

I wish Anderson were Brazilian him being English is lowkey driving that price up. I'm just trying to imagine a summer of either Baleba or Tchouaméni plus Anderson—that's your midfield rebuild completed before you even think about a third midfielder.

One of the reasons I don’t want Carrick to get the job is his in game management. Leeds had free roam of both flanks in the first half he made no adjustments to our shape without the ball. Martinez sent off and Casemiro is at CB because him and staff don’t know what to do, no conviction or ideas about how to adapt.

The successor to Bruno could very well come from Real Madrid. I’d take either Arda Güler or Franco Mastantuono in a heartbeat, I can’t see them letting go of Nico Paz easily. Martin Baturina is another huge talent who doesn't get nearly enough credit; in terms of pure ability, he’s absolutely on the same level as the others.

Any midfielder we sign this summer should be judged on a few simple questions:

✅️Can he run?
✅️Does he have energy and intensity?
✅️Is he ready for the physical and tactical demands of the Premier League?
✅️Is he technically secure on the ball?
✅️Can he distribute different types of passes?

If the answer isn’t yes to all of these, we shouldn’t be signing him.
