I’m so excited to share this with our Kiki community! We were approached by a screenwriter a couple months back and just signed the shopping agreement this week!

I redacted the screenwriter’s personal info per her request, but it is now in the hands of the agent who will be pitching Kiki’s story to potential buyers.

Kiki just amazes me every day with her accomplishments. Thank you for supporting her <3.

When I set out on a mission to find a way for Kiki to have independent mobility, I spent over a year sending emails, making phone calls, and searching for someone who could help.

I couldn’t find anyone!

As a respiratory therapist, I simply didn’t have the assistive technology background needed to figure out how to motorize a mobility device for her. There were times I felt frustrated and defeated. My brain told me to give up, to let it go but my heart just couldn’t stop thinking about it. I finally accepted I couldn’t rely on anyone else and it took another year for me to figure out how to adapt the motorized wheelchair you see here. Exactly one year ago today I gave it to her and Kiki took her first “steps”.

Rocco and Lucy have both since passed but I never forget them nor their relationship. Rocco spent 12 years in a tiny kennel outside as a breeder. He ate once a day…raw chicken bones and all.
Lucy was a gift along with one other chicken from a woman’s son. Lucy was badly attacked by the family dog. She had to be crated in the coop to restrict her movement. While crated in the pen, the dog sadly got ahold of and killed the other chicken. Devastated Lucy’s owner reached out asking if we could take this injured hen. We did.
After several weeks Lucy was able to walk again and this dog who had been eating raw chicken for over a decade and a chicken who had not only been attacked by a dog but witnessed one killing its only friend created a beyond a beautiful bond…. And that’s what makes their hearts better than ours.

It wasn’t that long ago a super hero bystander found this duck in the clutches of a hawk at the park. He was able to pry the duck out. Injured and covered in blood the gentleman drove him here. We had to tend to his wounds so sadly he’s not too in love with us BUT this little duck took to Kiki. Who doesn’t take to Kiki? And now we have a dancing duck?!! #amazonalexa #dancingduck #technologies
